Porto’s Otavio has emerged as a target for Arsenal, according to reports.
The 21-year-old winger is considered to be one of the brightest prospects currently operating in Europe, and TransferMarketWeb suggests that the Gunners have been ‘carefully scouting’ him in his recent performances for the Portuguese club.
Otavio joined Porto from Brazilian outfit Internacional in 2014 for £2.13 million and still has five-years left to run on his existing deal.
His current contract is thought to have a £53.5 million release clause within it, and should Porto decide to sell the youngster then they would be entitled to 67.5% of the transfer fee.
This season, the versatile midfielder has made 16 appearances for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side and has also been watched by Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United in recent times.
Arsene Wenger already has an abundance of midfielders at his disposal, so a move for Otavio seems unlikely to occur.
