Marseille are interested in signing full-back Mathieu Debuchy in the January transfer window, according to France Football (via Le10 Sport).

The 31-year-old started his first game for the Gunners in 12 months against Bournemouth on Sunday but lasted just 15 minutes before he was taken off injured.

Debuchy has been replaced by Hector Bellerin as Arsenal’s first choice right-back, and was used sparingly in the first half of last season, making just seven appearances in all competitions.

He spent the second half of last campaign playing in Ligue 1 for Bordeaux, and it looks as if Marseille now want to bring him back home permanently to France.

Manager Rudi Garcia worked with the Arsenal defender when he was manager at Lille and, according to France Football, he is unconvinced by current full-back Hiroki Sakai, and would like to bring in Debuchy in January when the transfer window reopens.
