Arsenal are pursuing a move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, according to Calciomercato.com.
The Italian website reports that Chelsea and Bayern Munich are also in the hunt for the 20-year-old, who has lit up the Bundesliga this season.
Leipzig currently sit top of the Bundesliga table, three points ahead of Bayern, unbeaten after being promoted last season, with Werner scoring seven goals in 12 league games so far.
He is currently fourth among Bundeliga’s top scorers this season with Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leading the way with 13.
Werner was only purchased from Stuttgart for €10million in the summer. That could mean that any move for the young German is some way off, and that the Gunners are more than likely just keeping an eye on the player.
Both Leipzig’s and Werner’s form has been surprising to say the least and it will be interesting to see whether they can sustain their form over the whole season.
