Three reasons why Olivier Giroud should now start for Arsenal

Olivier Giroud came on and saved the day for Arsenal at the weekend against Sunderland.

After going 1-0 up against the Black Cats, the Gunners were pegged back in the second half by a Jermain Defoe penalty before the French striker was introduced.

So far this season he has been struggling for a number of reasons and has seen Alexis Sanchez start in the main striking spot whilst he had yet to score a goal this campaign but within a matter of moments he reminded us of what he can do when on full form.

The former Ligue 1 striker put the Gunners 2-1 up pretty much instantly after coming on and, soon after, he’d added a second of his game and Arsenal’s third to kill the contest off.

Sanchez would round off the scoring to see the game finish 4-1 but it was Giroud that took the plaudits for the result. It was easily his best performance of the season, then, and here are three reasons why he should be allowed to start more often from now…
