The Daily Star is reporting that Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo is set to leave the club in the near future with a return to France his most likely move.

The forward signed for the Gunners as a promising young prospect but he has failed to showcase his talents enough for Arsene Wenger to deem him good enough.

Now, 23, the striker sees himself behind the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Lucas Perez for the role up front whilst Theo Walcott would also likely get the nod ahead of him should he be needed.

He has never scored in the league for Arsenal and has spent loan spells with Crystal Palace, Ajax and Charlton in his three years with the club in which, with the latter, he saw relegation to League 1 in this country.

It is thought that his former club Auxerre are interested in taking him as well as another French side, Lens.
