Speaking at an event for Puma and quoted by The Mirror Thierry Henry has said that Alexis Sanchez is the reason for Mesut Ozil’s good form.

The two players have been mainstays for the Gunners so far this season with Ozil playing in behind Sanchez in the Chilean’s new role up front.

Arsene Wenger has played the Copa America winner with Lucas Perez and Olivier Giroud being put on the bench and Henry feels that the former Barcelona man has helped unlock Ozil’s current run of good form.

The Frenchman said of Sanchez:

‘When you have a guy who as a No.9, the way he puts pressure, the way he moves, his vision for the ball, that creates a lot of holes for Ozil. That’s why Ozil is scoring a lot of goals – off the movement of Alexis Sanchez.’

Ozil has been in good form in recent weeks with a hat-trick in the Champions League against Ludogorets and goals against Swansea and Chelsea in Premier League victories but could not find the net against Middlesbrough last time out.

Arsenal head to bottom club Sunderland this weekend knowing that they can go top of the table if they win and other results go their way.
