Napoli attacking midfielder Lorenzo Insigne has rejected a new contract offer with the Serie A giants and is angling for a move to Arsenal, according to a prominent Italian journalist.

The Italy international is a product of the Naples-based outfit’s youth system and a fans favourite at the San Paolo due to his passion, trickery and goals.

However, it is believed that contract negotiations for Insigne to commit to Maurizio Sarri’s men have taken a turn for the worse and the potential for a transfer is there.

Matteo Pedrosi has stated that the diminutive playmaker has rejected a new contract offer of €3 million per year with Napoli and instead prefers a move to another club.

The journalist has listed Arsenal as a potential suitor, with the Italy international’s future unclear.

The Gunners have plenty of options in attacking midfield but Insigne would certainly provide an exciting option for Arsene Wenger in the final third.
