Arsenal striker target rules out Gunners move

|

Reported Arsenal target Alvaro Morata has stated that he will not leave Real Madrid this summer and that he is happy to be back with his boyhood club.

The Spain international left the Santiago Bernabeu two years ago to join Juventus, where he played a sizeable role in the Turin giants winning back-to-back Serie A titles.

Madrid activated a buyback clause in Morata’s Juve contract earlier this summer but there have been reports that the La Liga side could sell the centre forward on for an immediate profit.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with a move for the hotshot forward, but Morata has stated that he will not be leaving the Spanish capital anytime soon.

“It’s a very happy day for me as I return home,” The Daily Star quote Morata as saying.

“They were two long years, but sometimes you have to mature and I’m here again to give my all at the Bernabeu and to try to stay as long as possible.”

Arsenal fans have implored Arsene Wenger and the North London club to buy a new striker this summer, with talk of moves for Alexandre Lacazette and Mauro Icardi also coined.

Alexis Sanchez operated as the furthest man forward against Liverpool but is better deployed in a deeper role.
