Arsenal are ready to rekindle they interest in Swansea City centre-half Ashley Williams and will fight Everton for the £10 million rated enforcer, according to The Express.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for the Wales international in the past, but the defender has stayed at the Liberty Stadium and been critical in the club’s success over recent years.

Williams was solid last season for the Swans and bolstered his reputation further with some standout performances for Wales in their excellent run to the semi-finals at Euro 2016 earlier this summer.

With Arsenal facing the prospect of a host of their central defenders being unavailable for the season opener against Liverpool, Arsene Wenger’s men are being tipped to sign a new defender in coming weeks.

Williams would be a no-nonsense option for the Gunners but Swansea will surely be desperate to keep hold of their captain amid interest from domestic rivals.
