aaron ramseyBarcelona are set to reignite their interest in Aaron Ramsey, according to the Daily Express.

The La Liga giants were prevented by FIFA from making any signings last year after being found guilty of irregularities, but are now set to make their mark on the transfer window once again.

Luis Enrique is believed to be a keen admirer of Ramsey, who was previously linked with a move to the Nou Camp, and is reportedly readying a gargantuan bid of around £50 million to seal the Welshman’s services.

Ramsey has made 25 total appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side so far this season, scoring four goals and creating three, and the Frenchman will be eager to retain the services of the Wales international.

Should reports prove accurate and Barcelona are indeed preparing a £50 million swoop (more than likely at the end of the season), would the Gunners be foolish to turn this proposed bid down?

Wenger does rate Ramsey highly and has kept faith in the midfielder since his horrific leg break all those years ago, and indeed the times when the player was at his lowest at the Emirates.

Although many believe Ramsey has the ability to become one of the world’s best, his inconsistency is still there to be seen. This is of course due to where Wenger plays him, but even when deployed in his favourite position, the former Cardiff man can be frustrating to watch.

For me, Ramsey is not a world-beater, and if Barcelona were to offer £50 million for his services over the summer, I would bite their hand off. The loss of his services wouldn’t be that detrimental to the squad as we have other options and players to take his place.

In contrast, the lure of Barcelona may be too hard for him to turn down, and should he decide to swap the Emirates for the Nou Camp, I wouldn’t hold any hard feelings towards him.
