David OspinaBesiktas are set to reignite their interest in David Ospina when the January transfer window opens, reports the Daily Mirror.

The Colombian goalkeeper has not featured for Arsenal since his howlers against Olympiacos in the Champions League back in September, and as a result has been linked with a move away from the Emirates.

The 27-year-old now fears his time at Arsenal has come to an end as he struggles to overtake Petr Cech for the number one spot.

Despite his lack of action and previous blunders, Arsene Wenger still wants to keep Ospina on the books and will be reluctant to see him leave on loan this January having already sent Wojciech Szczesny to Roma for the season.

However, the Colombia international wants more regular game time, and Besiktas, who previously expressed an interest in him, are ready to give him what he desires.

The Turkish outfit are now hoping they can finally get their man, with the club president, Fikret Orman already thought to have made enquiries over a potential loan deal which offers a permanent-move option.

Unless Wenger decides to recall Szczesny back from Roma or sign another goalkeeper next month, Ospina must remain at Arsenal as we have no suitable back up to Cech.
