Arsenal legend Ian Wright has urged the Gunners to sign Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema at all costs this summer.

The 27-year-old Frenchman, who netted 21 goals in 42 total appearances for the La Liga club last season, has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates, with Arsene Wenger believed to be keen to add a new forward to his squad this summer.

Olivier Giroud has as well welcomed the idea of a new striker coming in this summer and Arsenal have since reportedly tabled a £31.3 million offer for Benzema, with Real thought to be weighing up the bid as they look to fund a move for Dortmund’s Marco Reus.

The majority of the Arsenal faithful would love to see the French striker arrive, with many pundits also believing Benzema could be the missing link to Arsene Wenger and Arsenal finally landing the Premier League title after 11 years.

And Wright took to his Twitter account begging chief executive Ivan Gazidis to go all out and acquire the France international’s services.

At 12:26pm today, the former Gunner wrote:

‘Is Benzema coming or not? Please make it happen Ivan.’

We all want to see Benzema arrive at the Emirates this summer as we need someone to offer serious competition to Giroud’s place in the side, and the Real Madrid man would be the ideal striker to do this.

I echo Wright’s latest comments and hope Arsenal make it happen. Whatever the cost, Benzema should be signed as he could prove to be the missing piece in Wenger’s puzzle.
