Arsene Wenger has personally spoken to Karim Benzema over the phone to discuss a possible move to Arsenal this summer.
The 27-year-old forward has been on Wenger’s radar for a number of years now and is still keen on him, as the Frenchman looks to strengthen his side’s attack ahead of the new season.
There were reports earlier in the week that Arsenal are set to make the ‘transfer of the season’, according to top agent Muzzi Ozcan, with many believing the player in question is Benzema.
And fuel has been added to this fire by COPE reporter Paco Gonzalez, who says Wenger has been on the phone to the Real Madrid striker to discuss a move.

It’s unclear whether or not Benzema still has a future at Real Madrid after it was reported Rafa Benitez was interested in signing Fernando Llorente. It’s also been suggested in the past that Real are willing to sell the French forward, with the Gunners reportedly preparing a £17.8 million offer.
It would be amazing to see Benzema at Arsenal this summer and hopeful these recent reports prove to be accurate.
Till we hear concrete news with an offer that is accepted by Real Madrid , we shall consider that as just wishful thinking , because Arsenal this transfer window has just sign Petr Chech for 10 million because he wanted to stay in London and Arsenal was his first choice after Chelsea.
