munir el haddadiArsenal have approached Barcelona over the availability of Munir El Haddadi, according to reports in Spain.

The 19-year-old shined for Luis Enrique’s side at the start of last season while Luis Suarez was serving his suspension, making 16 total appearances for the Catalan club and scoring one goal in the process.

Chelsea and Arsenal are said to be keen on the young forward, but Spanish tabloid Marca, as reported by several other papers, claim the Gunners have made an official enquiry.

However, it is thought the La Liga champions are unwilling to let the teenage winger leave the club, even on loan, and have supposedly already rejected an offer from Ajax.

But Munir faces a massive task in breaking into Barcelona’s starting line-up next season, with Lionel Messi, Neymar, Pedro and Suarez all ahead of him in the pecking order, and could ask Enrique to allow him to leave on a temporary basis to get some much needed first-team experience.

It is unknown if Arsenal want to sign the youngster on loan or a permanent transfer, but their best bet on acquiring him this summer would be the former of the two options.

Munir, who still has two-years left on his existing Barcelona contract, can play anywhere along the front, but is viewed more as a centre-forward – an area that Arsene Wenger is thought to be looking to strengthen this summer.

Let’s see if anything comes of this – my guess is nothing will.
