Arsene Wenger is prepared to use Lukas Podolski as part of a deal to lure Hakan Calhanoglu from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
The 29-year-old forward, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan until the end of the season, is set to return to the Emirates this summer.
However, Podolski doesn’t look to be in Wenger’s first-team plans, hence his temporary move to Inter in January, and will offer Leverkusen the German international plus cash to land Calhanoglu, according to the Sunday Star.
Arsenal have scouted Calhanoglu on a number of occasions already this season, but the attacking midfielder still has over four-year left to run on his existing contract at Leverkusen, meaning the Gunners will find it difficult to prise the 21-year-old Turk away from the German club.
In addition, Manchester City, Liverpool and Barcelona are also all reportedly keen on Calhanoglu which could result in a ‘highest offer gets the player’ scenario this summer.
Calhanoglu is valued at around £16 million.
Wenger need to buy the likes of Khedira, Bale, morgan ,the young forward in Sierra Leone James Bindi(in Seaside Rangers),Subotic, Reus, Fekir,and Morata.
