Arsenal are ready to offer Atletico Madrid £26 million for before the transfer deadline day.

The 28-year-old Croat made the move to Spain from Munich last summer but the arrival of has seen the striker drop down the pecking order at the Vicente Calderon.

Reports in Spain, as claimed by the Daily Express, no suggest could look to offload Mandzukic to either Arsenal or before the transfer window closes.

Arsenal have been linked with a move in the Croatia in the past and with Arsene already bringing in two new players, the Frenchman could rekindle his interest in Mandzukic as he continues to strengthen his squad.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will table a bid for the Atletico forward, but the have the upper hand on City as they could offer him more first-team opportunities than at the Etihad. In addition, it is uncertain whether £26 million would be enough for Atletico to sell a player they purchased last summer for just over £19 million.

Will Arsenal be able to pull this potential deal off before the window shuts on Monday? More importantly, would he be a welcomed addition to the team?
