Fork out £15.6M and bring him to Arsenal, Wenger

|

Moussa SissokoArsenal must pay £15.6 million if they want to get their hands on Moussa Sissoko, according to L’Equipe.

The 25-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks and according to the French publication, the Gunners have opened talks with Newcastle about a possible switch during January.

Sissoko has arguably one of Newcastle’s best performers so far this season and is believed to have caught the attention of Arsene Wenger, who is reportedly keen to bolster his midfield this month.

Only a few days ago, Arsenal offered £9 million for Sissoko which was turned down, according to the Independent, and with Alan Pardew no longer at the helm it is thought a number of names at St. James’ Park, including Sissoko, are considering their futures at the club.

Newcastle will be reluctant to let Sissoko depart the Tyneside club, but it is believed that a bid in the region of £15 million could be enough to tempt them to sell, despite the midfielder having over four years left to run on his existing deal.

10 days ago I wrote an article about why Wenger should wait til the summer to snap up Sissoko after it was reported that the Frenchman was considering a £16 million move for his fellow countryman.

However, after learning that Newcastle are willing to sell him for £15 million – and that the player revealed his ‘love’ for Arsenal – I think Wenger should go for him. Yes, our defence is our Achilles heel and it needs to be strengthened this January, but who says we can’t do that plus sign Sissoko?

Several clubs will be interested in Sissoko and his future at Newcastle could be in doubt after Pardew’s departure – so why not step up the pursuit of the powerful midfielder?

We went to the table with £9 million and it was rejected, but if reports are to be believed that Newcastle will sell him for £15 million, it makes sense just to fork out another £6 mil and meet their asking price.

Sissoko would do wonders for our midfield and although he has been playing in an attacking role for Newcastle since joining them, the Frenchman can also play in the holding role, which many believe we need improving.

Known for his tough-tackling and powerful runs, Sissoko is a well-rounded central midfielder who would be seen as a bargain for £15 million considering his form and development in the past year.

Get rid of all these midgets and useless duds: Coquelin, Flamini, Rossicky, Mertesacker, Podolski, Czesny and a few others wasting time on bench without any chance of giving anything to ARSENAL

What a load of frog’s bollocks, Goonerball.
Coq, Flam and Rosicky are great to have as squad players. Mert is a world class defender, his positional awareness is really great. Podolski will likely go as he is a one trick pony, and Szcz needs some time on the bench to cool down his hot head, but otherwise, I think our squad is just fine bar one more defender, a DM and potentially a striking option if podolski leaves.
