Arsenal can land Juventus right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner for a cut-price this January.
The 30-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and reports now claim that talks over a new deal have stalled.
If the Switzerland international is unable to sign a new deal at the Turin club then they risk losing him on a free, unless of course they sell him on this January, which is a very realistic option with the Gunners interested.
Despite being a very consistent performer and fan favourite, Lichtsteiner’s time at Juve looks set to come to an end, with the Serie A champions setting their sights on a move for Porto’s right-back Danilo.
Arsene Wenger is believed to be keen on strengthen his squad this January and a move for a defender to strengthen his back-line is high on the Frenchman’s list.
However, a move for Lichtsteiner, who is valued by Transfermarkt.com at £13 million, doesn’t look likely in my opinion, as we already have Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy who can play in the right-back position.
Although the Swiss defender would add depth and experience, a centre-back is required – not a full-back.
