Have Arsenal got enough about them to challenge for silverware?

Arsenal lifting the 2014 FA CupThe season started just a few weeks ago and teams in the Premier League have made the majority of their signings for the summer, including Arsenal.

But with what Arsene Wenger has added to his squad already, can his side really keep in touch with their rivals this season?

Well let’s look at the season passed, Arsenal seemed to be in a strong position to be crowned champions after topping the table for the majority of the campaign, only to be hit by serious injuries to key players like Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil which changed everything. These injuries, adversely, affected the team and we saw a strong team turn weak and from title contenders to top four sympathisers. But thankfully they managed to maintain to qualify to the Champions League group stage, albeit a lot of luck, by beating a resolute Besiktas outfit.

This season has already appears to be taking shape and the strong sides are proving their might by winning matches they should be.

And although Arsenal haven’t lost in their first two Premier League games, they got a late winner against Crystal Palace and then a late equaliser against Everton last Saturday.

The Gunners now face Leicester City on Sunday afternoon and we expect an improvement, both from individual players and as a unit. It will only take good team spirit, like we saw last night against Besiktas, and necessary additions before the summer transfer window closes on Monday, like a centre-back and especially a forward, for Arsenal not only to challenge for trophies but also to lift them come the end of the season.

Unless Mr.Wenger takes on two more quality players Arsenal will win nothing this year. I cannot understand how so bright a man as he is that he cannot see that. The team is struggling at the moment and its only the beginning of the season, Alexis is not a striker and is better working on the wings. As for Sanogo he is a headless chicken, running everywhere but going nowhere. Campbell is not experienced enough yet to take his place. We need a quality striker and a good strong (leader) as centreback.

Campbell, a World Cup player with obvious quality and technical skills is not…experienced enough to take Sanogo’s place in the lineup? Please…
