Arsenal look set to sell Ignasi Miquel to Norwich for £1.5 million, which may indicate that Arsene Wenger has a defender on the agenda.
Miquel has been with the Gunners since 2010, having joined from UE Cornella, but has only managed to make five appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League.
And it now seems Arsene Wenger is ready to let the Spaniard leave the club ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline day, despite being short of central-defensive cover.
It was thought that the 21-year-old would be moving to Carrow Road on loan but it is believed the Championship club want him on a permanent basis.
Wenger has already sold Thomas Vermaelen to Barcelona earlier this summer and with Miquel set to follow, the Frenchman only has young Calum Chamber, Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny to call upon in the centre of the back four.
Selling Miquel may well indicate that Wenger has someone in mind and if he does, hopefully he brings him in before deadline day.
