Arsene Wenger will set up a meeting with Mario Balotelli’s agent in Brazil to discuss a £25 million move to Arsenal this summer.
The 24-year-old Italian looks set to leave AC Milan after the conclusion of the World Cup and appears keen on a return to the Premier League and London in particular.
Balotelli was reportedly interested in working once again with former manager Inter boss Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, but Arsene Wenger is now in pole position to snap up the controversial striker.
And reports in France, according to the Daily Star, Le Boss will meet with Balo’s agent, Mino Raiola, over a possible deal this summer, with Raiola confident he can reach an agreement with Wenger.
With the Gunners short of options upfront, Wenger will no doubt look to add to his frontline to give Olivier Giroud some much needed help and healthy competition next season, and believes Balotelli could be the man for the job.
Should Arsenal manage to secure the services of the Italy international then it would no doubt receive mixed views by the Emirates faithful.
Personally, despite his notorious manner, Balotelli would be a fantastic signing for us. He has the quality and ability to succeed, possesses Premier League experience and under Wenger he could shine bright.
