Iker-CasillasArsenal are very keen on Iker Casillas and will attempt sign the Spanish goalkeeper before the Word Cup concludes.

Arsene Wenger is on the hunt to add another shot-stopper to his squad for next season’s campaign to challenge Wojciech Szczesny after the departure of Lukasz Fabianski to Swansea.

And according to Madrid-based tabloid AS, as reported by the Daily Mail, Wenger has made the 33-year-old Real Madrid man, who has been frequently rotated with Diego Lopez last season, his number one target.

Although Casillas still has three-years left to run on his contract at the Bernabeu, the Spaniard may well be forced to asses his options if things don’t change under Carlo Ancelotti.

It’s been reported that Wenger will ask both Santi Cazorla and former Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil to help try and convince him to join the Gunners.

The Spanish publication suggests Wenger will turn his attentions to either Malaga’s Willy Caballero or Saint-Etienne’s Stephane Ruffier if he is unable to acquire Casillas’ services.

Casillas would be an immense signing if we can pull it off in my opinion. The Spaniard’s potential arrival would also keep Szczesny on his toes and make the Pole perform better as he’ll know he has a top class shot-stopper challenging him for his place in the side.

The Spanish gk is a proven top quality player. Hopefully the fm will buy him asap . As for the FM’s other buys,I am not that optimistic. He has been linked with a winger about lennon’s height. The epl is a physical battleground. He may not be confident to confront the epl thugs
where robust tackles are tolerated unlike other leagues.
