Mario BalotelliArsenal have been given a boost in their pursuit of Mario Balotelli with AC Milan’s vice-president saying the Italian forward is not ‘irreplaceable’.

The 23-year-old, currently on World Cup duty with Italy in Brazil, is being tipped with a move back to the Premier League with Arsenal reportedly hot on his trail.

And Arsene Wenger and co. will no doubt be glad to hear that Balotelli could well leave the San Siro this summer after Babara Belusconi did nothing to dispel speculation.

Quoted on talkSPORT.com, Belusconi said on the matter:

‘Balotelli is a great player. But the way I see it, I don’t believe that someone can be irreplaceable.

‘We will see what happens.’

Balotelli spent three seasons at ManchesterCity before making the switch back to Italy with AC Milan for £20 million in January 2013.

The Italy international had a decent season with the Rossoneri, finding the back of the net 14 times in 30 Serie A appearances, but the club could only muster a disappointing eighth position in the league and will not play any European football in the upcoming season.

Wenger will almost certainly be chuffed to hear the latest coming out from the San Siro about the controversial forward but could face somewhat of a mixed reaction from the Emirates faithful should the Frenchman manage to seal his services this summer.
