Aymeric LaporteArsenal will have to fend off Bayern Munich and Barcelona if they are to land reported target Aymeric Laporte this summer.

Sources in Germany, as reported by talkSPORT.com, claim the Bundesliga champions are closing in on the Athletico Bilbao centre-back, who is also being watch by Arsenal and Barca.

But with Barcelona, at present, unable to make any moves this summer due to a transfer embargo placed on them, it appears Bayern and the Gunners will be the only two clubs fighting over the 19-year-old.

The French centre-back has attracted the attentions of Pep Guardiola since hitting the scene with Bilbao last season.

Laporte has since established himself as a regular in the Bilbao defence this season, making a total of 33 appearances for the Basque club.

Bilbao are under no pressure to let Laporte leave the San Mames anytime soon, with the youngster tied down until 2018, but are currently demanding a fee of at least £30 million for the France Under-21 international. And for these reasons alone, I cannot see Arsenal triumphing in this transfer battle.
