Arsene Wenger has once again expressed his admiration for Luis Suarez after his stunning display against Spurs yesterday afternoon.
Wenger’s chase of Suarez over the summer was well documented after failing twice with offers for the Uruguayan forward who was, at the time, looking to leave Anfield.
However, the 26-year-old decided to stay put and settled his differences with the Liverpool Hierarchy and is now, in many people’s opinions, the most feared striker in world football.
Suarez bagged his 17th Premier League goal of the season and was also involved in the other four goals at White Hart Lane, and speaking after the game, Wenger, who was working as a pundit on French television, admitted he is still a big fan of the tricky forward:
‘I think that every defender in England hates playing against him
‘He has a strong, provocative personality. From the information I gathered on him it appears that on a day-to-day level he is really easy to work with.
‘Also that he’s respectful, he loves training, he’s an angel. He turns into a demon when he’s on the pitch.
‘We all dream about having players like that.’
If Wenger is trying to get Suarez’s attention and potentially go in for him again this January, then I am afraid to say it won’t work. Not after his superb start to the season.
Can you honestly see Liverpool sell their star man whilst they are in the form they are in and currently challenging for the Premier League title? Not a chance.
Nothing is possible of course but if Wenger is going to reignite his interest in Suarez next month then he better be prepared to fork out a huge, and I mean huge sum of cash to acquire the Uruguayan’s services.
Will he do so? I highly doubt it.

He is not dreaming. He has the money now and is willing to spend it on the right players. Suarez is carrying Liverpool, without him they are mid table. Sturridge is one of the most arrogant players in the game. Their blessed ‘Stevie G’ is ancient. Remove them players and all they have is a free from man city, ‘ex-arsenal’ Toure, and a loan from Chelsea in Moses.
