Angel Di MariaHe was linked with a move to Arsenal in the final days of the summer transfer window, but now Angel Di Maria has come out and said that he does not want to leave Real Madrid.

Gareth Bale’s arrival from Spurs this summer placed question marks over Di Maria’s future at the Bernabeu, with Arsene Wenger reportedly readying a bid for the 25-year-old Argentine.

But Wenger opted to sign Mesut Ozil instead and even if the Gunners, or any other club for that matter, return with an offer for Di Maria, the Argentina international says he wants to stay put:

‘I wanted to stay from the start, because being here is the best possible thing that could have happened to me.

‘It’s true that it was a difficult summer in which a lot was said and many lies were told.

‘I am happy because things are going well for me. I am getting game time and I am feeling very confident.’

It’s all good saying this now that the summer window is shut until January. But come the winter, Di Maria may well consider his options, especially if he doesn’t get the game time he craves under Carlo Ancelotti.

I would love to see the Argentine come to Arsenal this January as he is a very talented player. And Arsenal fans shouldn’t give up hope of seeing him at the Emirates this January. Fingers crossed his situation changes in the weeks leading up to the winter transfer window.
