He won’t be missed, that’s for sure!

Marouane ChamakhMarouane Chamakh, you remember him? Yeah that ‘striker’ who joined the club on a free three years ago from Bordeaux. Well he wants to quit Arsenal this summer and hopes to return to his former side, Bordeaux. Hopefully, this DOES transpire this term.

The 29-year-old arrived at The Emirates in 2010 and despite a decent start to his Arsenal career, the Moroccan has become a misfit at the club. He was even loaned out to West Ham in January in order to regain his form, but to no avail. And because of this, it is hard to see him return to Arsenal let alone stay in the Premier League where he has flopped.

As a result, Chamakh is hoping to return to Bordeaux at the end of the season:

‘I spent so many good times here.

‘Everyone knows that Bordeaux is a club that is in my heart. If I find an agreement with Bordeaux, why not?

‘If I come back to France, it will be in Bordeaux.’

Since joining Arsenal, Chamakh has managed to find the net just the 15 times in 61 appearances in all competitions – hardly a striker worth keeping at The Emirates and pocketing over 50k-a-week.

Sam Allardyce will unlikely make a move for the Morocco international after only appearing three times for his side, and as such, Chamakh should look to seal a move away from Arsenal this summer.

Unfortunately, he won’t be missed if he chooses to hand in a transfer request at the end of the season!

Go easy mate, alright he didn’t cut it at the arsenal but he helped out massively at the beginning of his first season with us. The way our fans turn on some players though, is disgraceful and it clearly damages players confidence. Remember that these people are human beings with feelings. And chamakh is apparently a really top bloke. I find it sad that he will look back at his time with our club with a heavy heart. I would lay equal blame at our fans feet as much as I would chamakh’s lack of quality. Now bendtner, that’s one arrogant twat who IS deserving of the fans wrath.

@Ian: I agree on all counts – not sure where this venom is coming from. He performed well early season, and massively against Reading in the Cap One Cup. Perhaps, try to resist the temptation to write like a gossip columnist.

Chamakh started very well, i believe he started all of the first 8 games of the season in 2010 but then Van Persie came back from a long injury and Chamackh was forgotten and thrown to the bench only to be used on the last 10 or 5 minutes of every game…..no player out there could score many goals playing 5 minutes per game, also it takes their confidence to the floor, i believe that Chamackh is a good player and we never gave him a real chance at Arsenal, i hope he goes back to france and actually ends up playing !
