Gunners track Stuttgart ace

|

sven-ulreich-stuttgartAccording to reports in Germany, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Stuttgart goalkeeper Sven Ulreich.

Metro suggests sport newspaper Bild report Arsene Wenger sent scouts to watch the 24-year-old’s performance in Stuttgart’s 2-1 win over Freiburg in late April.

Ulreich, who has progressed through the ranks of the Bundesliga outfit, is the latest goalkeeper to be added to Wenger’s list this summer, as the Frenchman looks to recruit in this department at the end of the season.

Ulreich has made 147 appearances in all competitions for Stuttgart and Arsenal seem keen on the former Germany Under-21 international.

However, the German shot-stopper still has four-years left to run on his existing deal and the club’s sporting director Fredi Bobic says he is not for sale:

‘I hear now for the first time he is on their list, but he has a long contract, he is our number one. Therefore, there is no discussion.’

Asmir Begovic, Rene Adler, Victor Valdes and Simon Mignolet are also believed to be on Wenger’s radar this summer.
