Bayern eye up Arsenal defender

|

Laurent KoscielnyBayern Munich are keeping tabs on Laurent Koscielny, according to the Daily Mail.

With Daniel Van Buyten expected to leave the Allianz Arena, the Bundesliga club are keen to strengthen their back-line and Pep Guardiola has pinpointed Koscielny as the ideal candidate for the job this summer.

Guardiola tracked the 27-year-old whilst he was at Barcelona but a move for the French centre-back never materialised.

Arsene Wenger has favoured Koscielny over Thomas Vermaelen for much of 2013 and is now considered by Le Boss as a regular.

Bayern will find it difficult to sign Koscielny who last summer signed a new deal at Arsenal, and stated last month that he is not settled at the club:

‘I still have four years left on my contract after June.

‘I feel good in the club – they have faith in me. I’m happy in London, my family too. I’m not thinking about [leaving].’

Bayern may have to look elsewhere in my opinion as Kos certainly looks committed to Arsenal, and if he continues to impress, week in week out, I just can’t see Wenger parting ways with him.
