SIX Bayern players Arsenal should be extremely wary of

|

210638hp2Here are the SIX Bayern Munich players I think we will have to be extremely wary of tonight. If we are capable of keeping them quiet then we might just win this tie thus progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Big ask, but it can be done.

1. Bastian Schweinsteiger

The 28-year-old is arguably one of the best unsung midfielder in the world. The German star has great vision and awareness, as well as superb technical ability and a fantastic work-rate. Likes to dictate play in midfield and when he’s on his game, Schweinsteiger is hard to stop. Our boys will have to be ready for a physical battle in midfield.

2. Toni Kroos

The attacking Schweinsteiger. The 23-year-old has great passing distribution and will always look for the killer pass. The Germany international also has great technical ability, creativity and isn’t shy to have a crack at goal either. Can’t be allowed to run the show in his free-role or there could be trouble ahead.

3. Arjen Robben

Although he hasn’t been as clinical in front of goal as he was in the past, Robben’s speed, versatility and tricks make him, without a doubt, one of the most fearsome wingers in Europe. The Dutch international loves to bomb forward and use his pace to great effect and can play either side of the flanks. On his day, the 29-year-old can make any full-back in Europe look stupid – let’s hope he’s not up for it.

4. Franck Ribery

The France international is equally, if not, better than Robben. The 29-year-old has superb technical ability and loves to run at defenders. Ribery also has a piercing eye for goal and will almost definitely look to cut in from the wing to cause us problems. Bayern will look to him to create something out of nothing if things aren’t going there way, and he is certainly capable of doing it.

5. Mario Mandzukic

The 26-year-old Croatian striker moved to Bayern Munich from Wolfsburg last summer and has been in impressive form for the Bavarian giants so far this season, scoring 15 goals in 19 Bundesliga appearances. Mandzukic is an intelligent forward who has great movement and a piercing eye for goal and will need to be closely monitored if he starts tonight.

6. Mario Gomez

25 goals in his last 26 Champions league starts – says it all really! Although the German isn’t blessed with speed, Gomez just knows where the goal is and finds space with ease. Will pose a threat aerially and could cause us severe problems in the box if not marked properly.
