Splash the cash or lose out!!!

The loss to Chelsea yesterday not only proved we are miles behind our other rivals, but also, most importantly, proves Arsene Wenger needs to go out and splash the cash within the next 10 days, or we can forget about finishing in the top four this season.

We’ve heard the Frenchman has money to spend, at least £70 million, according to Ivan Gazidis, and the club have also paid off their stadium debt – so there is no excuse, no place to hide for Wenger and the Arsenal board anymore.

If we have the money, as Gazidis suggests, why hasn’t Wenger got around to bringing in the ‘exceptional’ talent he always goes on about? I’ll tell you why shall I? Because, and I honestly believe this, Arsenal FC is no longer a place top class players want to play for. Only young, raw talent are interested in joining The Gunners as it HAS, for sometime, been a stepping stone to bigger and better opportunities. The ‘exceptional’ player(s) are a figment of Wenger’s imagination, and he states this every season to keep the fans on edge and excited. Sadly, it doesn’t.

Wenger expressed his admiration for Edinson Cavani last week and will reportedly make a £30 million move for the Napoli striker – will he f***! Besides, would the Uruguayan actually want to play for our club? Would we match or better his wages that he currently receives at Napoli? No and no.

The fact is Wenger hasn’t brought anyone in of high-quality because Arsenal are a sinking ship. You know it, I know it.

Instead of being ambitious, Wenger has resorted to targeting the scraps, players who are not even getting into their respective teams, like Manchester United’s Nani.

Wenger has sadly settled for mediocrity which simply isn’t good enough for a club like Arsenal, and unless he wants to challenge for a top four spot this season then he and the board better whip out their cheque books and sign some quality, as this has strangely gone missing in recent years.

Looking for players with big potential who can be had at discount prices has always been the trademark of Wenger’s reign. When he struck gold with players like Henry, Veira or Mark Overmars , the Premier League was far less competitive and fewer clubs were looking at talented players from abroad. However, nowadays it’s a different proposition, every club is looking to strengthen their ranks and Wenger no longer has the monopoly on French market with players like Johan Cabaye or Ba going to New Castle. While Wenger and Arsenal were stagnant or as you put it ,declining, other clubs have made great strides to become more competitive in the Premier League. When players like Arteta are asked to take a pay-cut to come to Arsenal from Everton, and he only did it to play CL football, how difficult do you think it will be for Wenger to get top players when Arsenal are in Europa league.

Splash the cash or lose out….. Been the same story for the past 5 years for EPL & Champions League titles. Now we’re in danger of losing out on the only thing left to us….a Champions League place. Sadly we’ve only been making up the numbers for some time now.

Well the goon, when you write an article you need to be ready that people might not agree with you. And I don’t. The sooner people realise that Arsenal will not spend that kind of money (£30 mil) a player the better. What, you think writing shit articles like this will make a difference? Oh sorry did you think Arsene would be reading this? I think not. Arsenal buy talented relatively un knowns and turn them in to real players. The problem we have had is the to pay off the stadium we have had to sell them when they get good. Had you heard of fabregas before he joined arsenal? Alex song maybe? Adebayor? Clichy? No i didnt think so. It’ll be people like you who will complain that someone isnt good enough and then slate arsenal when they get good and sell them. This tells me you have no idea what arsenal are about. They will not change this policy, get over it or f*ck off and be a city fan.
The difference you will see in arsenals transfer activity will be that we won’t have the need to sell each year, thus giving us a chance to build on a team rather than having the first half of each season ‘gelling together’. We will still bring in the relatively un known and with the British core we now have Arsenal will get to the top again. And when we do arseholes like you will be our ‘biggest fan’ again. Much love.

Take a chill pill mate, your gonna pop a blood vessell. It’s called an ‘OPINIONATED’ piece, just my thoughts on the matter. I don’t care if people agree or disagree with me you twat. If you think you can do a better job then write something up instead of acting hard and jus slating what you read.

      • Hal says:

Well it’s called an ‘opinionated’ response. and you obviously do care if people don’t agree with you due to your reaction. And if you don’t like it don’t write such bollocks.
You’ve made a sweeping statement ‘splash the cash’ making no offering of who you think we should sign. Of course forgetting how wenger always finds a way to get his teams to play well. and you’ve based you damning judgements on wengers transfer riddles about cavani (wenger would never talk about someone he actually wanted like that) and a rumour about Nani! Ha! Which was probably made up by someone else trying to get clicks. I respect that you want to express your opinions, and I respect that you should. But I am a massive fan of this club and it drives me mad when so called ‘supporters’ come out with such negativity about the club and bollocks about the transfer policy. It is not going to change so accept it and change the record and write something else.
I would love to write an article for this website and of course would accept peoples opinion there after. You’ve got my email.
And lastly. I’m not aloud to slate what I read? Haha! but you can slate Arsenal, the board, the manager and the players? You are hilarious. Not nice being criticised is it, maybe you should think about that when you write your next article. much love, remember we are all Arsenal fans here.

        • The Goon says:

Mate I’m not gonna have a ‘cyber fight’ with you on here. At the end of the day if we dont get fourth more players will leave and no players will come in. Fact. Fact is no top players want to wear the Arsenal shirt anymore due to previous failures. I respect the fact that you ‘support’ the club, so do I, hence my frustration in this article, but not all of us are in denial. If Wenger is not meeting expectations, we as fans, who pay to go see the team, are entitled to express our concerns. I really, really hope things do change and we challenge next season, but you can forget about that if we can’t improve the side with BETTER players – hence why we lie in fifth place at present because we are miles behind the other big teams in the league. In response to who we should buy, how about making some big moves for the likes of Falcao, Cavani, Baines, M’Vila to show our intentions. Nothing is holding us back from doing this now right?

P.S: I never said that you are not allowed to slate what you read, you are entitled to your opinion.

          Peace.

        • platt fan says:

hal you can do a better job than this goon in writing an article about arsenal financial matters. The transfer market nowadays is not as easy as a few clicks in FIFA of fantasy premier league. This article is just the usual crap like i see blown out on social media. This blog and others always find a way to prove how pathetic arsenal is. what does that make you in the end? when you slag off your own team and manager rather than your own rivals?

        • Laz says:

Do you guys not agree with what the writer is saying though? Wenger has failed to replace the talent he’s lost over the years, and is going for players either not good enough for the team or thier own. Not arguing, just asking the question

        • The Goon says:

@Platt fan – I’m simply giving out my opinion on why Wenger hasn’t brought anyone in, it’s because, unfortunatley, Arsenal aren’t the team they were before, fact. As a fan I’m entitled to slag off the team, manager and board when they aren’t producing anything for me or the others who sit every weekend of the year and watch them play. If you sit there and think everything is good at the club when its not, then I’m afriad you are either a really, really, really proud Gooner or a fool.

  • natty says:

What about coaching and motivating. This is Wenger’s Arsenal, all his work.

  • Big Gun says:

Hal, its idiots like you that have made our club what it is, a mediocre one. You actually believe Wenger will change things? Will he fcuk!

    • Hal says:

Idiots like me? Well thank you, I am touched that you think that my opinions actually have an affect on Arsenal.
Well obviously they don’t and neither do yours you pilock. So in stead of whinging like a spoilt child I choose be an actual supporter and support my club.

      • Kelvin says:

We’re all Arsenal fans on here Hal, but not all of us are liking the way our club is being run at present. Not everyone supports Wenger despite his past success and that’s fair enough.

  • Big-D says:

Wow. First Arsenal fans complain that all we do is aim for the top four. Now we might not get top four and its all we want! Ridiculous!

  • ivorstephens says:

Splash the cash on who exactly?A new right back ?we already have jenkinson who should have played yesterdayEven if we buy Cavani or villa now by the time they settle in it will be mid April.Yesterday we were far too respectful of a poor Chelsea team.I srill think we can finish third this season and maybe progress in the cups and then we can spend the summer pkanning
