Surprise, surprise, Arsenal have been linked with another player – Napoli’s Juan Camilo Zuniga.

Zuniga, who can operate as a full-back as well as a winger, has established himself as a regular in Walter Mazzarri’s side, and his performances in Serie A and last season’s Champions League campaign have attracted the attentions of several clubs around Europe.

The agent of the Colombia international recently confirmed that ‘top level teams in England and Spain’, referring to Arsenal and Barcelona, are tracking and monitoring the 27-year-old’s progress.

According to talkSPORT, Riccardo Calleri told Italian radio station Radio Cri:

‘Top level teams in England and Spain are interested in Zuniga.

‘That is to be expected because many teams are interested in him due to his versatility, and because he can play at the back or further up the pitch.

‘He would fit in very well at a big club.’

Zuniga, whose current contract at Napoli expires in the summer of 2014, would make an excellent addition to the Arsenal side.

I believe we are in need of a strong left-back, one who can challenge Kieran Gibbs, and Zuniga could very well be the man for the job.

The Colombian has explosive pace, loves to bomb forward and is defensively sound. He would definitely suit our style of play and could certainly bolster our defensive options.

Whether we make a move for him remains to be seen. However, Arsene Wenger recently stated he is ready to spend big and hopefully it’s on Zuniga. Here’s hoping.
