Day 19 of the January transfer window and Arsenal have been linked with another potential new recruit. This time it’s Gilbert Imbula Wanga, who reportedly is ‘wanted’ by The Gunners, according to the Daily Mail.

The 20-year-old French midfielder, who currently plays for Guingamp, is also being monitored by Chelsea and Lyon after his impressive displays for the Ligue 2 outfit in recent seasons.

Many believe Arsenal are in desperate need of a holding midfielder this winter, with The Gunners being linked with a number of players who play in the aforementioned position, such as Momo Diame.

Arsenal will have to part ways with at least £8 million to sign Wanga this January, if they are of course interested in the young midfielder, as reports suggests.

To be honest, Wanga may be an up-and-coming ‘star’ but he is not what we require. Plus, he is a Ligue 2 player – he would struggle to adapt to the English game in my opinion.

12 days and counting – make something happen Arsene Wenger.

We don’t need young unproven player, but a mature leader who takes the game by the scruff of the neck. We always buying and sending on loan then sell them for a small fee which is wasting money and time in nurturing forgein players..!

That would mean that we would have a Coq and a Wanga. Team innuendo!
