Ok, so after much talk of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar coming to Arsenal next month is finally over because the Dutch forward has recently penned a new deal at Schalke – great…
Huntelaar, whose contract was set to expire in the summer, looked certain to leave Schalke with a move to England on the table.
However, the 29-year-old has put speculation to rest by committing his future to the Bundesliga side until 2015.
The Holland international told the club’s official website:
‘I have thought long and hard about this decision and I am very grateful to my managers of FC Schalke have given this time. But now I have made the decision in which I have the best feeling.
‘I’ve always felt comfortable at Schalke, the club and its fans.’
So who do we turn our attention to now? If of course we are looking to recruit a striker next month.
Personally, I can only see Arsene Wenger attempt to sign one player in the centre-forward position this winter that he can actually acquire, and that’s Demba Ba.
The Newcastle man has a £7.5 million release clause in his current contract and dreams for playing for Arsenal. Plus, the Senegal international already has Premier League experience under his belt, so it makes sense in my book.
We have been linked with a move for Atletico’s Adrian Lopez for a few weeks now, but I can’t see Wenger spending £15 million on the Spaniard. Besides, I think he is a little over-hyped.
Marseille’s Loic Remy remains a possibility. But the French forward likes to cut in from the wing and is not prolific enough for me.
Besides Radamel Falcao, Huntelaar was possibly our best option.
It will be interesting to see who Wenger turns his attention to now.

I don’t think we should bother ourselves about any signing in January because Wenger will not give us any. He has already said he has a strong squad.
he wont bring in anyone
if he dose it will be some cheap player.
that is what happens we won 3 games now
and everyone is all okay we trust wenger now
the team is great.
Ba Is no better than what we have we should go all out to sign Radamel Falcao,
Bring ba and tiote
well nice optimistic comments I see. Well the rumours have been flying about for ages. Umoh Wenger said he would not buy for buying sake he would only buy quality. that comment is fair enough i think. Ken I disagree ba has proved he can score in the premiership and is already accustomed to the rigours of epl unlike falcao downside is he is african but fortunately senegal don’t play in the african cup of nations this year they didn’t make it so he will be available during January and thats always a bonus and at 7.5 million is a bargain. though i believe wenger will buy for other positions and hope walcott Giroud and henry can do a job until new season. A keeper and midfielder and possibly a defender will be his buys if any.
Arsenal should really goo for roberto soldado and gisueppe rossi….both of them top players
What about Fernando Loriente?
Soldado is a brilliant centre forward but I would imagine that atletico will be using their falcao money to make Valencia an offer they cant refuse.Personally I think that we’ll get enough goals with what we have presently.Add a good holding midfielder in January and that will free our creative midfielders t(still among the top units in the league incidentally) to prompt our attacking players. We have some tough games in January,we will need to be solid
1. DM to replace diaby as he is never fit
2. LB to replace santos as he is crap
3. CB to replace djourou as he is crap
4. CF to replace chamakh as he is crap
thats my choices in order but we.could also do with setting free fabianski mannone squillaci eastmond denilson arshavin park bendtner and watt
Demba Ba and Lopez or Zaha, plus sale Walcott now!!! Lopez can play wide right in an attacking 3.
Podolski Giroud
Alex.Ox Demba Ba
Lopez J.Campbell
Gervinho
Gnabry
Could be the attacking future for the next few seasons!!!
