Arsenal legend Nigel Winterburn believes The Gunners will officially be in crisis mode should they fail to beat Tottenham on Saturday.

Arsenal are already 11 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester United, and with increasing pressure on the club to deliver silverware and Arsene Wenger’s shoulders this season, Winterburn insists nothing more than a win over arch-rivals Spurs will do for The Gunners at The Emirates this weekend:

‘I thought this season that Arsenal would be stronger than last season, even though they lost Robin van Persie. I liked the togetherness of the squad.

‘My one slight worry was where would they replace all those goals. They would need [Olivier] Giroud to start scoring straight away and would also need the midfield players around him to possibly get into double figures. And it just hasn’t happened like that.

‘Form a promising start, it’s now really turning into a bit of a crisis already.

‘They really need a positive result [against Tottenham] and a positive result means a win.’

Funnily enough, I was thinking the same thing as Nigel.

This is probably one of the most important games, in recent memory, for our club. Not only do we need to pick up all three points, we also need to show what we are truly made of.

In my opinion, a draw will not be good enough for us. And should, heaven forbid, we actually LOSE to Spurs then serious questions need to be asked.

Would we be in a full-blown crisis if we suffer another defeat? You beat your ARSEnal we will!
