Just one more chance?

Nicklas Bendtner has been at Arsenal since 2005, needless to say the 6’5’’ Dane has had trouble cementing himself as a first team player since his arrival. This largely comes down to his inconsistency to perform.

The 24-year-old striker has been sent out on loan to clubs like Birmingham City in the past and most recently Sunderland in order to gain some first-team football.

He seemed to perform better whenever he was loaned out by the Gunners. Big fish in a small pond springs to mind.

Bendtner’s has made over 98 Premier League appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side, scoring 22 goals and chalking up 15 assists as well – a record which isn’t that impressive. But not the most disastrous either.

I think it’s fair to say that he’s had a number of chances to show his stuff at Arsenal, but he just hasn’t taken them.

But after his exploits in Poland and Ukraine this summer, does Bendtner deserve one more chance at Arsenal? I think so.

The Denmark international can score goals, we know that much. His confidence in himself is clearly unmatched and is a key trait for any striker to have. Perhaps he just has too much.

Finally, he is still young and CAN get better and even though he sometimes leaves many fans frustrated with his performances, I do see Bendtner improving.

One more chance for Bendtner?

Currently assuming the giroud deal is done there are 30 players fighting for a place in our 25 man squad. 3gks. 9defenders 8midfielders and 10forwards. obviously that is far too many forwards arshavin rvp podolski chamakh bendtner park gervinho walcott vela and giroud. i would say in a 25 man squad you need 3gks 8 defenders 7midfielders and 7forwards

Inconsistency, i beg your pardon, and Big fish in a small pond, i beg to differ. very consistent with his national team, and almost single-handedly threw the hopes of Portugal out of the window and you call him “Big fish in small pond” . I guess you must also be implying that the Euro 2012 is a small pond. It could only mean one thing “the coach”. He’s full of confidence and performs exceptionally for national team but deflated and below par for when playing for Arsenal.
