Lazio’s Stefan Radu is being eyed up by Arsenal this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The 25-year-old Romanian, who can play as a centre-back or be deployed in the left-back slot, had a fairly productive season for the Biancocelesti, helping the Rome-based club clinch fourth place in Serie A.

It seems his form this season has not gone unnoticed, as Arsenal and Manchester City are both reportedly monitoring the Romania international this summer.

Radu’s contract with Lazio does not expire until 2016, but it is believed that the versatile defender is interested in a move to England in the near future.

Arsene Wenger will more than likely look to strengthen his backline during the summer after this area of the Gunners squad suffered with injuries once again.

With the prospect of Johan Djourou potentially joining Juventus and Sebastien Squillaci unlikely to feature next season, this will only leave Wenger with three competent centre-backs in Thomas Vermaelen, Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.

Should both Djourou and Squillaci leave the club this summer then a centre-back will have to be purchased, and Radu wouldn’t be such a bad option. Mind you, he may cost a few bob and you have to consider the billions of Manchester City, who can easily offer the Romanian a more lucrative wage package, as well as Lazio bagging more cash for Radu’s services.
