Could this French midfield enforcer be heading to Arsenal?

‘Inter, Arsenal, Real…I will take the fun everywhere!

‘These are great clubs.

‘If the coach calls you and tells you he wants you to make you play, especially a French coach, it changes everything.

‘The important thing for me is getting playing time for the France team.’

This is what Arsenal target Yann M’Vila was reported to have told French TV station Canal +.

A clear come and get me plea from the Rennes midfielder to Arsene Wenger?

Well it certainly seems that way as the 21-year-old hints at wanting to play under a French boss should he leave Rennes, and they don’t come any better that Mr. Wenger.

The France international still has three years remaining on his existing deal at Rennes but is highly likely to depart the Ligue 1 outfit in the summer, as suggested and accepted by boss Frediric Antonetti last month.

The highly-rated defensive midfielder nearly made a move to Arsenal last summer, but decided to remain at the Ligue 1 club for at least another season.

It will, in my opinion, be very difficult to acquire M’Vila, especially with Inter and Real also vying for his signature this summer.

But I think his latest comments to the press have put Arsenal in pole position, as admitted he would like to play under a French coach to aid his progress and chances in the national side.

I would certainly welcome him to the club should he decide to make this switch, but who will be dropped from our midfield to accommodate him! I guess we can worry about this when or if he signs for us.

In any case, hopefully M’Vila’s comments will spur Wenger to step up his interest in the midfield enforcer.

This is the missing link that we haven’t had since viera left. I’d put him in songs position and play song a more attack minding midfielder with his brilliant through passes. This could be the difference between a trophy less season and a glorious one. This is the one position we haven’t ever replaced since Patrick left.

He’s not a midfield enforcer, he isnt going to toughen up our midfield and he would be the wrong signing for us.
Javi Martinez would be a brilliant signing and can also cover as a CB.
Song this season has been rubbish as a DM because Wenger has let him go forward. He’s got a few assists but the number of goals we have conceeded because our midfield hasnt been tracking back is a lot more than his assists. He looks lazy now he goes forward and our midfield is too slow.
Coquelin, Wilshere & AOC/ Rosicky would be a much better CM selection with energy and speed. Arteta isn’t quick enough at moving the ball to be in a top team.

We don’t need him, we have Song, Wilshere & Frimong in that position. We need to buy fire power. Gervinho needs to be replaced with someone who scores more and assists more and we need quality back up for RVP.

coquelin is far better player than this so called enforcer. we don’t need to sign anymore dm.we need a goalscorer and remove under performers from the starting line up. arshavin is gone , now ramsey and walcott need to drop to the bench and chamakh out of first team.

i dont think we will even make a bid for him.

i dont see wenger spending 15-20 million on a player that could be a sub.

we play with 2 deffensive midfilders.
    and one creative.

wilshare and song will be the 2 holding

so i dont see wher mvilla can fit in there
unless wenger plans to sub song or sell him.

but i do think we need someone that is better at deffeing then song.

we need a solid person that dose not cross the half way line.

song is great but as a difensive midfiled he should have 8 assits to his name this season.
he should not even go in the attacking half.
that why our deffenders always end up getting exposed .

arteta has been great his been more diffensive then song this season.

  • Blablabla says:

Javi Martinez also Good, but I doubt he can settle in London, since atm, he belong to a team which full of basque. Can he handle multicultural London, and Arsenal? I Doubt it…
If Coquelin better than M’Vila, surely Coq has more caps at French National team, as a starter …… eh ….. wait …..
