‘It’s almost impossible for them to turn this tie around’

AC Milan forward Robinho believes Arsenal will not be able to overturn the 4-0 first leg deficit tonight at The Emirates.

The Gunners were humiliated in Italy almost three weeks ago and the Brazilian international is convinced Milan will progress through to the next stage of the Champions League.

The 28-year-old ex-Manchester City forward told The Sun:

‘At City, I never had much luck but I’ve shown what I can do with Milan and I’m determined for another good day.

‘Arsenal have improved since we beat them but it’s almost impossible for them to turn this tie around.’

Robinho went on to state the obvious, claiming Milan were far superior to Arsenal in the San Siro in the first leg and praised Robin van Persie:

‘We were superior in the San Siro – 4-0 was a poor return. Robin van Persie is a great forward but he couldn’t influence things.

‘I don’t think he’ll play as well against us as he has in his last few league games.’

Obviously Robinho has taken the sane route by suggesting we’ll be unable to turn around a 4-0 deficit.

Now whilst many Arsenal fans (including myself) believe the team can score four goals tonight, on the flipside, those same fans will also have this question in mind – can we keep a clean-sheet? Well in our last three home games we have conceded five goals, whilst netting 15, which should give us some slight hope of outscoring our opponents.

However, looking at Milan’s frontline, it’s quite hard to think that we won’t concede. If they score then we’ll need SIX! Which would truly be impossible!

Milan are a great organized, tactical side and will more than likely play counter attacking football tonight and rightly so. If we go out all guns blazing then it could back-fire on us. However, we have no other option but to attack, attack, attack!

In my opinion we have nothing to lose. The damage has already been done and as such we should just go for broke and hope for the best.

I have seen Arsenal playing this season and they are well below par against Milan with their 4 goal lead.

But, that but could be very cruel and football for all its worth has its ups and downs and when the downs open their claws then it is difficult to win. The Liverpool match is such an example.

If arsenal are capable of producing scoring chances as Liverpool and score them, then I shall be the happiest man at the age of 80 more then happy.
