CSKA Moscow maestro Alan Dzagoev has recently admitted that he would consider a move to the Premier League, putting several top clubs in England on red alert.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder is regarded as one the best creative players currently operating in Russia and has been heavily linked with a move to Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus.

However, Dzagoev has ruled out a move to Italy and would rather showcase his aptitude in England or Spain, should the opportunity arise this month.

Arsenal and Manchester United have previously been linked with the Russian playmaker and he hopes a deal can be finalised before the end January transfer window shuts:

‘I want to move forward as a player. I have heard many rumours about my future but they are not true.

‘If I ever have to choose another club, I would prefer a move to Spain or England – the two biggest leagues in the world.’

So should Arsenal make a move for Dzagoev this month?

The Russian international is a technically sound midfield who loves to push forward and craft out chances for his team-mates. Dzagoev, who was once rumoured with a move to Real Madrid a few years back, also has Champions League experience, which in theory wouldn’t be great for us this season, but he could provide the creativity that we currently lack in our midfield.

He is valued at around £13 million and his current contract expires at the end of the year. In addition, it is thought that he doesn’t want to renew his contract with CSKA, so the Russian outfit would rather sell him and get some cash than risk losing him on a free in December.

The former Krylia Sovetov-SOK midfielder should definitely be looked at by Arsene Wenger, who at one time reportedly made ‘discreet enquires into the availability’, as an option – either this month or in the summer – to spark some much needed imagination and creativity in Arsenal’s midfield, because ever since the summer departures of both Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, the Gunners, in my opinion, have lost their artistic edge in the middle of the park.
