Stevenage have snapped up Arsenal youngster Luke Freeman on a permanent deal.

The 19-year-old forward has joined the League One outfit for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half year contract.

Freeman had been on loan at the Lamex Stadium since November 2011 – where he managed to score 1 goal in 9 appearances for The Boro – and it proved enough to convince manager Graham Westley of handing the youngster a permanent deal at the lower league club.

Freeman joined the Gunners for around £200,000 from Gillingham in 2008, but made no senior appearances for the north London club.
