According to French publication L’Equipe, Lyon are ready to part ways with Arsenal target Aly Cissokho.
The Gunners have reportedly been interested in Cissokho since the summer, but decided to sign Andre Santos from Fenerbache. But recent reports from France suggest that the 24-year-old left-back was on his way to the north London club for a medical, which I personally believe are untrue.
Responding to questions about Aly Cissokho and possible winter departures, Lyon Chief Jean-Michel Aulas said:
‘Possible winter departures? That doesn’t mean we don’t have any more means, but we want to keep the rules we set, which is to not increase deficit.
‘The transfer of Aly Cissokho I’m rather in favour of it.’
So it once again looks like the ball is firmly placed in Arsenal’s court, and I think that there is probably a 75% chance of us signing him within the next two weeks, as Sky Sports now claim that Newcastle have opted against making a move for the France international
