Why Wenger should sign this Ligue 1 hitman

|

Laurent Blanc explained why Olivier Giroud was being called up:

‘He’s a boy who’s had an excellent start to the season with his club,” said Blanc of Giroud, the only new face in the squad.

‘In that position, I like having a player who is atypical, with his size and his ability to play with his back to goal.

‘We’ve been thinking about it for a little while and it’s the right time to reward him and to allow him to discover what the international level involves.’

Arsene will almost certainly be working for French TV on these forthcoming games so should see Giroud firsthand in action. For those keen to get a taste of Olivier Giroud in action take a look at this vid:

I hope you like what you see, but here is the clincher for me. While talking to the media only last week, Giroud admitted of his love for the Premier League and said:

‘I’ve always loved England and it will be England for me.’

Yes he is not the big name I know many of you want, but he could well be on the brink of being one and let’s not forget the last French striker Wenger signed, who is now plying his trade in New York. He turned out alright didn’t he?

My guess is that the lure of the Premier League, working with Wenger and European action would be irresistible for Giroud, and 10 million would be too much for Montpelier to ignore, even with the player under contract until 2014.

For this money Wenger could still go after Goetze or Hazzard so many Gooners dream about arriving in North London. Me, I still have faith in ‘Le Boss’ when it comes to uncovering hidden gems and perhaps Olivier Giroud could be next to make the short trip across the Channel.

sow is a good candidate aswell. He is strong, Can play as the target man, can shoot from the outside of the box, he imposes himself during free kicks and corners, and in quite speedy….. On and best of all he will relatively come cheaper, and is a fan of Arsenal.

Please let’s wait for January to come b4 we decide who is coming in & who is going out of the club abeg.

I think you are forgetting that the last french striker we signed was Jeremie Aliadiere and even though he was a promising talent when he got to Arsenal, we all remember how that turned out.

  • Alex says:

If we buy a striker we need to first ship out Bendtner and Chamakh, and imo we need a player that is versatile to play anywhere in the front three and is technical enough to play for Arsenal. Unless Arsene can produce a miracle and buy Hazard (or even GOtze who can play on either wing), Stefan Jovetic currently gets my vote.

It is obvious dat we nd a striker as a sub for RVP b4 we borne him out, i wl av preferred Lukas Podolski to be sign in january transfer window bcos of his vast experience in europe rather than any french striker than wl soon expire. Gooner tl Jesus comes

  • Hi-tech says:

  • Dean c says:

    Lionel messi fits the bill

  • Shegs says:

    Gotze £25m
