So we currently sit 15th in the Premier League after just 7 games, injuries aplenty, under par performances and poor form – what are we Arsenal fans to do?

Well the majority would get behind the team and management, whilst some, the minority, would pile even more unwanted pressure on the club.

At this point you’re probably asking yourself what the hell am I going on about. Well, I recenlty read in the The Mirror that a group of disgruntled Gooners plan to flag up their anger at Arsene Wenger and the squad when the Gunners host Sunderland at the Emirates next Sunday…really?

A new protest group, which go by the name of ArsenalFCnotPLC, will reportedly vent their annoyance and frustration during the Sunderland game next weekend by hanging up banners around the stadium in order to make their ‘cause’ more visible.

A displeased Arsenal season ticket holder, Chris Adsett, believes the time has come for Arsene Wenger to call it a day:

He was quoted in the Sunday Mirror saying:

‘Put simply it is not good enough for Arsenal.’

‘We are on a downward spiral and this needs to be addressed.’

‘Arsenal fans love and admire Wenger for what he has done, but that was then, this is now. We need a new face and new impetus, and soon.’

Listen, I can understand the fans frustration, but what’s the point of protesting for? What will it really achieve? Nothing. If anything it will only pile more pressure on a team that already is short on confidence.

But this is not to say that I don’t feel this minority’s frustration. I can’t put into words how upset and pissed I am to see my beloved Arsenal in the bottom half of the Premier League table…I just haven’t come to terms with it.

I believe things must change, mainly in the form of tactics and system, but you have to remember that we are without a lot of key players, which have undoubtedly hindered us – not to mention bad calls from referees.

Undoubtedly, Wenger and the Arsenal board have a lot to answer for and as fans we deserve to know what the hell is going on with our club, especially as we pay a hell of a lot of money to go see our team perform and see little outcome. However, a protest is not the way to go in my book.

Hopefully this angry mob will change their mind on their remonstration by Next Sunday.

Its quiet unfortunate that some arsenal fans have turkey brains. How can a sane person think that protesting against the manager and team at a time when they re trying to mend things, helps. Sunderland bought in enough players but re they doing any better? We ve a number of players out injured and this has its effect on the team. This same fans say what wenger did was in the past yet they talk of the last 6yrs. Is that not also talking about the past? The truth is the guys who claim to ve supported the team since the last 6yrs,ve never supported the team but re using it as an excuse to be a disgrace to the club.

A disgrace to the club. As fans that pay year in and year out for there season tickets and have kept there mouths shut for the past 5-6 years. I think they have a right to voice there opinions and concerns. We waited until 200 members could meet with the board to discuss the state of our affairs. Yet they still did not deliver world class players! We are not the one with turkey brains my fellow Gooner.

Emeke wats long overdue? Arsenal fans acting foolishly,is that wat is long overdue?

I agree with the heading, ‘what’s the bloody point?’ It’s a bit early in the season to be taking a step like this. If they really feel the need to protest at least give it till mid season and see where we are then maybe this protest could be justified, right now it does seem ‘pointless’.

i think the timing is right considerin the present circumstances on the pitch and gazidis speech last week, pisd me off alot..the protest shouldn’t just be against wenger but the alongside wit the board

  • The Don says:

    i dont get some fans

so protesting and wanting wenger out

is going to fix the problems ?

its will just give the media and people resions to have a go at us

wenger will not be sacked or will not leave in the middle of the seasion

the protestes should be at the end of the seasion when we could get a new manager or forceeeee the board to spend big.

now its pointless it will just make things worse.

We identify players then get out bid for them 2 months down the line. Or we won’t go that extra few million to secure a good signing. I’ve had enough. Where the ones paying over the top ticket prices. Change is needed and now. If he does hang on till Jan transfer window, the club better dig that little deeper into our pockets and get the 3 quality signings we need. No If or buts. Last chance mr wenger and board. Or your have a full blown protest.

I’m sure if everyone who sparked a historical revolution thought the same as you they wouldn’t have written themselves into history and they’d quietly accept their circumstances and leave their corrupt government in power.

Why can’t supporters voice their opinion and why should we wait until we’re languishing in the bottom half of the table 8 months from now to do it?

Why can we not ask for change now? Because it’s not a transfer window or football break? Who cares? Change doesn’t wait for these kinds of things, it might happen quickly.
