So we currently sit 15th in the Premier League after just 7 games, injuries aplenty, under par performances and poor form – what are we Arsenal fans to do?

Well the majority would get behind the team and management, whilst some, the minority, would pile even more unwanted pressure on the club.

At this point you’re probably asking yourself what the hell am I going on about. Well, I recenlty read in the The Mirror that a group of disgruntled Gooners plan to flag up their anger at Arsene Wenger and the squad when the Gunners host Sunderland at the Emirates next Sunday…really?

A new protest group, which go by the name of ArsenalFCnotPLC, will reportedly vent their annoyance and frustration during the Sunderland game next weekend by hanging up banners around the stadium in order to make their ‘cause’ more visible.

A displeased Arsenal season ticket holder, Chris Adsett, believes the time has come for Arsene Wenger to call it a day:

He was quoted in the Sunday Mirror saying:

‘Put simply it is not good enough for Arsenal.’

‘We are on a downward spiral and this needs to be addressed.’

‘Arsenal fans love and admire Wenger for what he has done, but that was then, this is now. We need a new face and new impetus, and soon.’

Listen, I can understand the fans frustration, but what’s the point of protesting for? What will it really achieve? Nothing. If anything it will only pile more pressure on a team that already is short on confidence.

But this is not to say that I don’t feel this minority’s frustration. I can’t put into words how upset and pissed I am to see my beloved Arsenal in the bottom half of the Premier League table…I just haven’t come to terms with it.

I believe things must change, mainly in the form of tactics and system, but you have to remember that we are without a lot of key players, which have undoubtedly hindered us – not to mention bad calls from referees.

Undoubtedly, Wenger and the Arsenal board have a lot to answer for and as fans we deserve to know what the hell is going on with our club, especially as we pay a hell of a lot of money to go see our team perform and see little outcome. However, a protest is not the way to go in my book.

Hopefully this angry mob will change their mind on their remonstration by Next Sunday.

ive watched arsenal 50 years through good and bad at the moment we need confidence only get with support weve had turmoil all summer now we have a team where all want to give everything we could not sign players til we were in CL we cannot pay 2000 grand a week do some of you know what supporter means all this in house bitching abuse just shows your mentality does any one really have an alternative when boss thinks he can go no further he will walk

Tell ya what Tony Merakli, would you remonstrate if your missus was shacked up with some other guy and you caught em red handed or would you demonstrate your anger on his / her ass? I think i know the answer to that cos we’re getting screwed as Arsenal fans!!!

    • Tony Merakli says:

Hahahaha!!! I get your point, but what will a protest achieve if the Chairman, Chief executive and Kroenke are behind Wenger?

As stated in the article, I’m pissed off as well, but calling for Wenger’s head is pointless if the club back him

      • Lee says:

Maybe he’s screwing the club as well but they don’t have the balls to do anything about it. AW’s history makes it hard to ignor. Sometimes the bigest problems are often ignored until it’s too late. I hope not though..

I started supporting Arsenal because the board and Wenger told me it would be win, win, win,I wanted trophys not failure I want championships, cup, silverware, not fancy prices and 15th place in the league,we are a laughing stock even Exeter City fans look down on us, Oh we play fancy football but what do you win, Zit,Zero,Splat, nothing, yet every week we log on to out pirate internet site and watch our beloved team fail and fail again.I could go down my local jobcenter and pick up a better manager then Wenger, if I had not spent all my dole money on Meths and a new cardboard box I could catch a bus down the Emirates and do beter myself, the board and Wenger must all go and give all us loyal hardworking fans some real hope for the future.
Why they wont just go out and spend £250 million and buy us a winning side again is beyond me.
    Lost and hopeless.

I support Arsenal since the Graham years (’89 to be precise-I ‘m not that old!), and yes Wenger has done great things for the club BUT this is going from bad to worse. I ‘m not talkin’ about “big name signings”, I m talkin about the fact that Arsenal has been turned into a feeder club, I hate that. Another thing, since the retirement of all of Graham’s players, Arsene never really managed to sort out the defense. Last thing, the players who make it through the youth ranks don’t have an attitude and they don’t have a winning mentality, it’s sad to see players who wear the Arsenal shirt to have their heads down and quit, this is not the “Arsenal way”..
Anyway just my opinion, no bitching.
Maybe a change is needed but I will support The Arsenal no matter what.

    • ArsenalUSA says:

Arsenal has the best youngsters coming up., BUT BUT
Wenger expects that modern players will be loyal to their club and stay and play after the club NURSED and TAUGHT them through the young years.

But predators (agents) want to keep mistresses and will encourage players to jump. The SCUM like Man City with no youth will be after Theo, Oxo, Wiltshire by next June.

Weneger cannot match 150K per week, so it is ONLY loyalty keeping players at Arsenal.

Theo, Oxo and Wiltshire needs to be locked down till 2016 or the SCUM will come.

We got rid of the trash, now all we got to do is win.

  • the font says:

i doubt this is true there are many wenger supporters who may turn violent towards any person trying to destablise the club

  • Naija ninja says:

English fans are so irresponsible. So rascally, so so prodigal. Look at the names they are calling the gentle Arsene. Who knew about arsenal until he came? Fuck all yuh beer drinking bunch.

    • Dave says:

You may not have known of Arsenal before Wenger, but we did. This is why we support the club and not the him. Before he came to Arsenal, we had won the league a few times and won some cups. The mos sccesshe had with Arsenal had been on the back of the staunch defence built by George Graham. We do not want an economist as manager.

  • REZ says:

QUEATION EVERY THING N EVERY BODY THE MANAGER INCLUDED

  • sagun says:

well i would support them. club is to play and win trophies, not for business. how much had arsenal spent on recent years? -26 million???
8-2 to man utd, 2-1 to tottenham. thats a shame.

    • 30yeargooner says:

How do you blame the manager when Ivan the terrible yes terrible says he’s not gonna let wenger spend big in January can you blame wenger?

  • 30yeargooner says:

The only good thing about a protest is It might let wenger out from his living hell. Give him the England job he will win with them. Ive been a fan since the 1970s when my uncle was a star fullback with the team. I know for a fact it’s the board catch 22 by Joseph heller should be required reading for all gooners. I wonder how many Liverpool or city or spurs etc fans would love 3 league titles in the last 15 and 5 in the last 25 years. Only ONE team in England has been better I Dunno 2nd Out of hundreds is ok with me.

Oh yeah and on another note wilshire and chamberlain , wilshire and chamberlain , English and better than cesc and nasty any day English players are way more loyal.

  • Charlie says:

I’ve been working in China and by some miracle i’ve been able to get a ticket to the Sunderland game which will be my first match at the Emirates. It’s an exciting prospect for me because before i started working in various far-flung places i’d go to Highbury regularly. The thought of having my first Emirates experience ruined by a small group of killjoys is very annoying. I just hope that the real fans get behind the team and generate an atmosphere to make up for those who don’t belong in the stadium.

    • Dal says:

There not killjoys they are voicing there opinions and have prob gone to 3-4 home games this season alone Charlie. Get over it. Hope this protest goes ahead and gets the managers and the boards heads out of there arse’s. Pricks
