Barca claim they got Cesc on the cheap – do we care?

Image for Barca claim they got Cesc on the cheap – do we care?

It appears that Barcelona have only just managed to work out their maths, after vice president Josep Maria Bartomeu decided to recently announced to Sportsworld that ‘Cesc Fabregas is worth at least €60 million (£52.7m)’, and feels that the Catalans did a great piece of business to lure the Spanish international to the Camp Nou on the cheap.

In what I think is probably just an attempt to rub salt into the wounds of Arsenal and their fans, frankly, I think many reading Bartomeu’s comments will probably be thinking ‘we know you got him on the cheap, we’ve known all along’.

I have to say I am not familiar with Josep Maria Bartomeu, but after his latest attempt to include Arsenal in the media, I’m starting to get a picture of Mr. Bartomeu in my head. When I close my eyes and think of Bartomeu, the only image that pops into my head is that of Manuel from Fawlty Towers!

I believe a majority of Arsenal fans do not truly care about the amount of money that the Gunners got for Fabregas, because the fact is we could have received £100 million for his sale and we still would’ve been upset.

I am pleased that Cesc has done well since leaving the club and I am truly happy that he got the move that has made him happy; it just appears that Barcelona, who are one of the biggest clubs in the world, sadly like to spend a lot of time in the media spotlight, rather than working on their class off the field – one thing Barcelona certainly cannot buy.

Take it from me Barca – we don’t care how much money you have. We don’t care who you buy next and who you stitch up along the way, your club will have there day and just remember, what goes around comes around.

Everyone involved with Arsenal needs to ignore these comments, the is a childish jab from some of the most childish people in sport, everyone employed by Barcelona have been digging and making comments about Cesc for years now and I think there all a little bitter that we kept him for so long, this is just a childish dig at Arsene Wenger and I hope he doesnt rise to it when asked about it in hes next interview, hope he says something like “we got him on a free and sold him for £35 mil, now that was a bargain”
