Cross over to the dark side or become an Arsenal legend – the choice is yours Nasri

|

Ashley Cole – Arsenal fans are no angels in these matters. After Cashley’s infamous ‘I nearly crashed my car over a revised offer of £55,000 instead of £60,000 a week’ and ‘paranoid at Arsenal because no one spoke English in the dressing room and I feared the foreigners were talking about me’ outbursts after making the trip down the Kings Road, Arsenal fans (yes, me included) take great pleasure in questioning his sexuality and the whereabouts of Cheryl. Although the latter is now resolved!!

Michael Owen – From talking to an ardent Scouser, the once darling of the Kop, wouldn’t have the preverbal done to him if he was on fire outside the Liver Building since signing for Brand United.

Luis Figo – Following his move from Barca to join the Galacticos, Figo is another player whose life has been threatened, to the point where a pig’s head was thrown at him during an El Classico encounter in 2002.

Samir should also be wary of leaving before his time. Players, who could have had their names in Arsenal folklore, but left after one good season, also have a story to tell:

Alexander Hleb – After 3 consistent seasons at Arsenal, Barca came calling (as the inevitably do once a Gunner starts playing well) and €17 million later he was off to the Camp Nou. After just 5 appearances in his first season, Alex returned to Stuttgart and then to Birmingham City on loan. He is now pinning for a stay in the Premier League. His preferred club…..Arsenal!!!

Mathieu Flamini – After a messy transfer from Marseille, Mathieu flirted with the first-team at Arsenal for 3 seasons and finally got his chance in 2007 due to injuries to Gilberto and Diaby. Forming a partnership with the emerging Cesc, all Gooners thought that the faith Wenger had in Mat would be repaid when it came to signing his new contract. But A.C Milan came knocking and Flamini jumped ship. His Milan career has mostly been as second fiddle to more established stars and his blossoming International career has all but disappeared.

So there you have it Samir, it’s now up to you to decide – stay at Arsenal and become a Jedi Knight, a true Arsenal legend, or take the money, the wrath and the trip to the dark side.

The choice is yours.

IvoryGoonz, I think you’ve missed the point , nowhere in the article do I insult Samir, I am highlighting what happens when players transfer to rival teams or leave the club before they have really established themselves !!!! The criticism of referencing RECENT comments from United players is totally unjustified as it is the reason why comments have come out about a POSSIBLE transfer to United!!! Which is the starting point of the piece and is not out of context
