£26M plus two Barca fringe players for Fabregas this summer – Deal or no deal?

|

Barcelona are preparing to launch their latest bid to prise Cesc Fabregas away from the Emirates the day after the Champions League final, according to reports in Spain.

The Spanish giants will meet Manchester United a week on Saturday at Wembley, where the two sides will compete for the most prestigious prize in European football. But rumours in Spain are already speculating that Barca will make a move for the Arsenal captain within hours of the final, depending on the outcome.

If Pep Guardiola’s side triumph on the day, then any bidding for Fabregas could be delayed. However, if United were to be victorious, Barca could immediately start negotiating a deal for the 24-year-old Spaniard the following day.

According to Spanish newspaper, El Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona will look to table an offer of £26.5 million – plus a choice of two fringe players, a deal which could tempt the Gunners this time around.

Fabregas left his boyhood club eight years ago when he was just a teenager. Since then, Cesc has matured and developed into one of Europe’s leading midfielders as well as becoming Arsenal’s skipper.

The Spanish international, who won a World Cup medal in South Africa last summer, was close to leaving the Emirates at the end of last season, but Arsene Wenger managed to persuade his talisman to stay put for another year.

However, following yet another sub-standard season at Arsenal, fresh fears over Fabregas’ future have once again surfaced, which has left many speculating whether the midfielder has in fact played his last game for the Gunners.

Barca, who have been credited by many as the best team in world football today, believe it’s time for Fabregas to return home, and evidently, play alongside Spanish duo Xavi and Andres Iniesta in the midfield.

If it’s £26.5M + 2 fringe players (of which I can’t think of any good enough to really sort out our problems), then why not go to Real Madrid and ask for Benzema + £20M instead! I think that’s a much better deal! The £20M can then be used to bring in Hazard! I am sure Fabregas will consider Real Madrid!

At the end of the day, I don’t mind seeing Fab go, but I just don’t want it to be Barca, just because of the attitude of the players there! Don’t get me wrong, they are great players, but their attitude STINKS!

I believe that Cesc is a world class player, however I do NOT think he is as important as everyone is making out. Our best form was probably early in the season when Nasri played in a central role, a role he doesn’t play when Fabregas is on the pitch. Combine Nasri’s good form with RVP’s scoring spree and we have more than enough talent up front and in midfield. If we got Pique in return for Cesc I would be happy.

Affelay, Bojan plus a reasonable amount of money is twice better than the Cesc of this season believe me. The more we hold on to Cesc the more damage he will be doing.
I think we should only keep him if Hazard is coming to give him competition.

I think it is inevitable that Fabregas will leave this summer and go to Barca. I would like Fabregas to stay but if he were to leave, and Barca offer this deal then we should get Bojan Kcric and Affeley plus money.
