Will Cesc Fabregas still remain at Arsenal this summer?

|

Fabregas surely would have heard all their experiences of winning major trophies at Barcelona. All the Barca players released press statements about how Fabregas wanted to return home. They even pulled a Barca shirt over his head during their World Cup celebrations to add more drama in the story. This was then followed by two official offers from the Spanish giants, which were nowhere near Arsenal’s valuation of their star player.

As speculations rose, over a long and controversial transfer saga, Cesc Fabregas finally put it to rest by announcing that he was staying at the club for at least one more season.

In truth, Fabregas does owe a lot to Arsene Wenger, who has taken a lot of personal interest in the young Spaniard’s career. This was evident during that huge transfer saga last summer when Cesc told of his love and respect for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger. However, this season has really tested his patience. From being in contention for four trophies, to being out of three of them within a fortnight was a bitter pill to swallow. And those disappointing draws in the league, which virtually ended their Premier League title chase, left the Spanish international questioning Arsenal’s priorities. But that doesn’t dissolve Cesc of blame, as he has been a shadow his former self this season.

The Spanish international has failed to inspire the team as a captain, and has gone off the radar in the big matches. The lack of trophies, and the dream of playing for Barcelona, has made him forget his duties to a club that is solely built around him.

The stats show that he is nowhere near his performances of the last three or four seasons for Arsenal. In spite of being involved in everything creative that the Gunners do, on the field Fabregas has let everyone down.

This might be the last we see of our captain, but it is unclear whether Barcelona will be able to pay the huge transfer fee for his services. Though Real Madrid have expressed their interest in the player, it is highly unlikely that Fabregas will move to Barca’s arch-enemies.

It’s probably about time that we parted ways with our star man. He has been an absolute treat to watch, but there is a need for something new at Emirates, and I believe the rebuilding starts with the departure of Cesc Fabregas. The money we get from his transfer fee needs to be used by Wenger to build a new era of success at the club.

I truly believe this will be our captain’s final season at the club. Despite this though, I hope Fabregas puts in one hell of a performance against Manchester United on Sunday, and repay a club that has stood by him and, ultimately, put him on the map.

I don’t think he will ramain an Arsenal player next season, I think he can see that the current team is lacking in certain personnel departments, and I think we all know which areas of the pitch need improving. The team lacks leadership and real winners, players who know how to win trophies.

I wouldn’t blame him if he left, he has been a great player for us, but I’m sure he is frustrated with Arsenal’s lack of ambition and lack of silverware. Let’s also consider that he has been at the club for 8 years now and he see’s nothing is improving. All of Arsenal and I’m sure Fabregas himself know that they are lacking experienced players but for some reason Wenger can’t see it. Due to this Wenger is driving out our players with his policy and his lack of buying players, Wenger is destroying Arsenal. Anyway at the end of the day Fabregas is a great player and great players deserve to win trophies. If he goes I personally wish him the best of luck.
