Arsenal trail Swiss youth star Kevin Mbabu

|

Arsenal look set to nab Switzerland youth international Kevin Mbabu from under Manchester United’s noses, according to the Daily Mail.

The 16-year-old Servette youngster has already spent time training with the Red Devils, but it is believed that Mbabu has been invited to take part in this week’s Ferroli Cup by Arsenal’s head of youth development, Liam Brady, and could feature in the first game against A.C Milan.

Kevin Mbabu is primarily a defensive midfielder by trade, but the Swiss youth can also be deployed as emergency centre-half or right-back if required.

Arsenal have already managed to sign young starlets Kristoffer Olsson and Leander Siemann this season, and should Kevin Mbabu impress in the Italian tournament this week, the Gunners may look to add the Swiss to their already huge youth collection.

Why do Arsenal constantly sign youth players, it’s good having them for the future but currently we are struggling in the trophy department. This is where experienced players are needed to guide the younger players and show them how to win trophies.
